Understanding & Achieving a Ethical Criminal Justice System

According to the book–Justice, Crime, and Ethics by M.C. Braswell, B.R. McCarthy, and B.J. McCarthy–there are five goals to understand ethics. These goals can also lead to ethical practice in the criminal justice system.

  1. become more aware & open to moral & ethical issues
  2. begin developing critical thinking & analytic skills
  3. becoming more personally responsible
  4. understanding how criminal justice engaged in process of coercion
  5. develop wholesight–become more open to moral & ethical issues

I have loved learning since I was a little kid. I adore animals and have a dog and cat. I am always observing, thinking, and analyzing. I am a graduate school student studying disability studies. My goal is to help the police better serve people with disabilities. I aim to achieve this goal through training the police, serving as the link between the disability community and police, and doing consulting with the police.
